C. Lee Asplund

Background

Lee AsplundGrowing up in the prairies of Alberta, Canada – C. Lee Asplund has the heart of a country girl but the soul of a pure geek, and the work ethic of any country girl.  She is a self professed work-a-holic because when she gets excited about a project – she will keep on trucking until she is done!  One of her favorite sayings has become “If we are not having fun, it is time to try something else!”  That something else may be a new approach or just simply, something new.  There is always a way to change things up to make them interesting – to break out of the box and think a little differently.

Lee has been fascinated by what makes things work from an early age, willing to take things apart and put them back together (and most of the time they worked again).  In high school and in university, she worked hard to bring science to the public, hosting science fairs and displays (and to this day she swears she has no idea why the fire department insisted on having a fire truck on standby during her demos – what’s a little extra magnesium powder between friends…).

Lee has spent years learning to blend science and technology with marketing and creativity.  With one of the more eclectic skill sets, she has learned to ask a lot of questions, develop a solid strategy, and then move forward to realize goals and visions.  She has spent a lot of time working with high tech companies in roles of scientist, applications and sales support, technical writing, technical support, service, sales and marketing – so her toolbox is brimming with a lot of great skills.  She has traveled the world, making a point of experiencing everything possible!

In her spare time, Lee thoroughly enjoys getting in trouble in the kitchen, designing and performing science experiments, getting up in the craft room or the garage and making pretty much anything, because, she can, or putting together some new outfits and accessories for cosplay and steampunk events.
